Regional Committee Update from Interim Chair – Sarah Clarke, November 2016

Over the last six months, the South West committee has undergone some changes.
Earlier in the year, long standing Chair Graham Brant stood down from the committee. The role of Interim Chair has now been taken up by Sarah Clarke who is also Regional Advisor for the committee.

The committee is therefore keen to appoint a permanent chair as soon as possible.
Committee member Chrisie Bolton from Torbay has been appointed Secretary.

The committee is also seeking new committee members to help with its rejuvenation.

Study Event 2016

July 2016 saw a small committee deliver a successful and well received study event, entitled ‘Lets Sweat the Small Things’ .

Committee member Kate Tantam kicked off the event in the Post Graduate Medical Centre and behind the scenes our Treasurer, Peter Branfield was on hand giving great support. Stealing the show however was Helen McMillan who gave an extremely interesting insight into her journey as a trainee ACCP.

The feedback received from all delegates was positive.

2017 will see further changes. A new chair is required and the committee is very keen to appoint new members.

We are also looking for link members to promote the BACCN and its benefits. All we require is for notice boards to be updated in your unit staff areas, with posters and membership forms to encourage new members to join.

If you are interested in becoming a link member for your hospital/unit or you just require further information, please contact Vicky Quinn via membership@baccn.org

Alternatively, if you are interested in joining the BACCN South West Committee please contact Vicky Quinn on the above email address.

Let’s make 2017 great!

Best wishes,

The South West Committee, BACCN
