Research Support Opportunity: CoReCCT - a new concept in respiratory critical care research

29th Jul 2024

CoReCCT is a new concept in respiratory critical care research that aims to improve efficiency through collaboration and harmonisation. Currently, CoReCCT is comprised of four NIHR HTA funded clinical trials that investigate the following interventions for patients with acute respiratory failure:

  • Prone position in acute respiratory failure (AWAKE PRONE)
  • The Venner PneuXTM advanced endo-tracheal tube (PROTECT Airways)
  • Airway Pressure Release Ventilation (Release)
  • Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA)

We are currently looking for sites to join us on this exciting new concept in trial delivery. We hope that each site will be set up to recruit to 1, 2 or more of the confederation trials. We have set up the confederation to help you seamlessly enrol patients into one or more trials where appropriate.

We're able to do this through the use of our bespoke modular CRFs and unified database.

We have also designed an overarching master protocol to complement the separate domain protocols for each trial to ensure that key trial processes are aligned as far as possible.

For R&D departments, there will be a single site agreement for all four trials to minimise burden. Sites can be set up to recruit to one or more of the confederation trials using the one site agreement.

If you are interested in taking part, please email ICUconfederation@warwick.ac.uk
