Karin Gerber

Karin joined the BACCN National Board in 2013 taking on the role as Regional Advisor. In 2016 she commenced the Conference Support role working alongside Colette Laws-Chapman (BACCN Conference Director 2009 – 2017). Karin took over from Colette as Conference Director after she stepped down from this role in 2017.

Karin brings nearly 25 years of varied clinical Critical Care nursing experience to the team having trained and worked in both South Africa and the UK. She works full time in a busy District General Hospital (DGH) in the South of England as a Critical Care Outreach Nurse Specialist.

She has attended & presented at several local, national and international critical care conferences and has organised many educational events for both the BACCN and the DGH where she works. Karin is passionate about all things critical care nursing related and is an active social media participant/advocate, taking the lead on the BACCN’s social media activity including moderating the monthly BACCN Twitter Chats which explore topical/current critical care issues with many like minded practitioners from across the world.
